Heavy Engineering is one of the leading hardox plates manufacturers and suppliers. We produce the plates in different grades. Hardox plates of high abrasion resistance and hardness. The hardness of the hardox wear plates ranges from 470HBW to 530HBW. The thickness of the plates range from 2mm to 32mm. The minimum yield strength ranges up to 1400MPa. The chemical composition of the hardox liner plates differ according to the grade of the plate. The material is strong, corrosion resistant and hard due to the composition.
The composition includes carbon, silicon, manganese, phosphorus, sulfur, chromium, nickel, molybdenum and boron. Depending on the grade, the quantities will vary. The hardox 500 plate can be bent and folded given the conditions are met. These plates have to be carefully handled during bending as they can spring back more than other steel types. The products can easily crack if bent too much or folded fast without correct size of punch radius or die width. The hardox 450 plates range from 3mm to 80mm in thickness and the hardness ranges from 425HBW to 475HBW.
These are used in very high strength and hard applications where abrasion resistance is needed. The applications include dump trucks, chutes, screens, rock crushers, conveyor belts and excavators. The hardox 400 plates range in thickness from 3mm to 130mm and the hardness ranges from 370 to 430HBW. The material has additional requirements for heating for welding or heat treatment that are described in the specifications.
